William Hawkes grabs victory in Coventry Level 1 Open

William Hawkes delivered superb performance in Coventry Open. His three swims not only set 3 new club records, but also two of them were faster that qualifying times for Midland Championships.

Hannah Underwood added another record in Junior Lincs League

Grantham Swim Club finished only 4th in Junior Lincs League, but still there were some valuable races. Best swim was Hannah Underwood’s 25 backstroke that set a very fast new club record.

9 new club records broken in Tulip Open, 12 first places and one new gala record!

Grantham Swim Club recorded another excellent performance in Tulip Open. We finished with impressive 9 club records! Leah Roughan set 2 new club records and one gala record in 100 BR, Lucy Thompson set another 2 club records, William Hawkes 2 club records and Thomas Lewis 3 club records where club record in 100 BK was from 1995! Also our swimmers made 32 finals and 12 first places. Besides those named above, the following swimmers swam outstandingly and made finals: Maddie Barnes (5th in 50 BR), Jacob Allen (5th in 50 BR), Ellie Ferguson (1st in 100 FLY, 5th in 100 FR, 5th in 100 BK and 6th in 100 BR), Hannah Ford (1st in 100 BR, 100 BK, 100 FR and 3rd 100 FLY), Emma Wilkins (3rd in 100 FR and 100 BK), Nicky Djerfi (6th in 100 FR), Luke Marriott (6th in 100 BK), Kendall Wilkins (4th in 100 FLY) and Harry Fowler (3rd in 100 BR). Most of the swimmers recorded very strong pb’s and some already qualified for County Championships 2013. Well done!

Third place and 3 new club records broken in a Senior Lincs League

Another solid team performance in a Senior Lincs League. Leah Roughan and Lucy Thompson (100 breast) and James Harrisson (100 fly) showed great form setting new club records.

5 medals for Hayley in the National Celebral Palsy Championships

Another great swim from Hayley Milne. Last weekend Hayley competed in the National Cerebral Palsy Championships held at Nottingham University.

Masters Inter-County Gala

The 15th April saw four of our Masters swimmers compete in the East Midlands Inter County Challenge Event in Nottingham. Representing Lincolnshire were Rita Baxter, Brian Gibson, Hayley Fountain and Alice Smith. Rita competed in all four disciplines, as did Brian Gibson. Hayley took part in the 30+ freestyle event and Alice was a very valuable asset to the relay teams. All four swimmers clocked very respectable times in their events. Well done to all of you.

Hannah Underwood crowned “backstroke queen” broke another club record!

Fantastic results achieved in Fenland league. The most spectacular was a new club record in 50 BK by Hannah Underwood and massive pb by almost 10 seconds!

New club records at Leicester Open

Leah Roughan is a first swimmer this year that qualified for ASA Age Group Nationals that will be held from the 22nd - 26th July in Sheffield. Leah swam 200 breast impressively under 2.50 mark what was a new club record and met qualifying time standard for this year Nationals. Besides Leah strong swim was delivered by Lucy Thompson in 200 free. This is Lucy’s another Midland time and just shy off the club record. Good swims and good pb were recorded by Issie Schofield (400 IM) and Caleb Mackey (400 free and 200 free).
