Leah Roughan wins silver in British Age Group Championships in Sheffield

Leah Roughan had a blistering opening swim in the Age Group Nationals. In her first swim, 200 breastroke, Leah improved by 4 seconds, qualifying for the final in the fastest time of the day. Leah’s achieved time of 2.34.34 was only 2 seconds off the British record! In the final, Leah did superbly well, attacking the record time, but it was a swimmer from Millfield who managed to finish stronger and Leah came second. This was still phenomenal performance as Leah smashed the previous county record in 100 and 200 breastroke becoming the fastest long course breastroker in Lincolnshire in history. Also Leah is the first national medallist in Grantham Swim Club history. It must inspire others from the club to follow such great achievement. This weekend Leah will swim 400 IM and 100 breastroke where she will try to win another medal. Leah will be joined by William Hawkes who is also swimming 100 breastroke and hopefully our taper will work for Will as well as it has for Leah.
Go Grantham!
