ASA Level 3 coach, USA Swimming Level 3 coach, M.S. in exercise physiology
Before I took the head coach position in Grantham I coached for 4 years in the USA (Caldwell, Topeka) and for 6 years in Poland (Gdynia). In 2002 I was selected to the Missouri Valley Swimming coaching staff for the Age Group All Star Swim Meet in Lawrence and in 2003 I was selected to the coaching staff member for the Central Zone Championships in Indianapolis, USA. I coached National Age Group medallists in the USA, Poland and in England. I have not coached an Olympian (yet!).
I have never been a competitive swimmer. In 1992 I started the sport of triathlon and in 1995 I won a bronze medal at the Polish Junior Championships. In 2015 I completed competitively my last triathlon (middle age crisis) – Outlaw – in the time of under 10 hours.
My sport hero and why:
American basketball player – Michael Jordan. He was deemed too short to play for the high school team. Motivated to prove his worth Jordan became “the greatest basketball player of all time”.
Michael Phelps – for his ability to train and race.
Tell us one random interesting fact about yourself:
Although I love coaching swimmers and seeing them develop to better swimmers I don’t enjoy swimming myself. This is the last sport I would chose to do the physical exercise.
