GSC Swimmers Representing Lincolnshire at County Team Champs

Well done to Sam Leveridge, Evie Turner, Callum Melville, Connie Phillips and Abigail Farkas (and we must point out that Abigail was the captain for Lincolnshire!) who were selected to represent Lincolnshire at the County Team Champs that was held in Sheffield at Ponds Forge on Sunday, 6th October 2019. More information about the meet and results can be found here but this was an opportunity to race against the very best swimmers in the country in each of the various age groups.

Welcome to our New Members

GSC held trials for new swimmers on Friday 13th of September. It was a really well attended event with 27 swimmers participating and so the standard was high.

14 swimmers were selected to join and we are delighted to welcome Alfie, Alice Eva, Gracie, Isabella, Joel, Lexie, Mya, Oscar, Rhys, Sam, Sophie, Theo and Youvan to GSC.

We wish them many years of happy swimming!

GSC Representing Lincolnshire at Junior Intercounties

Huge congratulations to our GSC swimmers : Callum Melville, Connie Phillips, Evie Turner, Thomas Thornton, Grace Turner and Joshua Clarke for being selected to represent Lincolnshire at the Junior Intercounty Competition. The meet was held on Sunday, 22nd September at the long course pool in Luton and was an opportunity for some of the best swimmers in Lincolnshire to compete against other Counties. Well done all for being selected.

Callum Melville selected for Scottish Youth Development Squad

Grantham Swim Club are very pleased to announce that National swimmer Callum Melville has been selected for the Scottish Youth Development Squad. To qualify for this amazing achievement, Callum had to attain 4 "Silver Band" long course times. Being part of the Youth Development Squad will mean that Callum has to participate in training camps over the next swim season in Dumfries, Stirling and Aberdeen. 2019 National Qualifiers

The British Swimming national qualifying window closed on Monday and the lists have now been published. Big congratulations to Callum Melville who qualifies for British Champs in the three breaststroke events and Scottish nationals for 9 more! Fantastic Callum!

East Midlands Championships 2019

It is now time for our older performance swimmers to head to Ponds Forge for the first of three days’ swimming at the East Midlands Regional Championships. This is for age 14 and over. Good luck for Monday, 6th May and in two weeks’ time to George Berwick, Abigail Farkas, Sophie Ballard, Katie Rundle, Billy Reed, Archie Tagg, James Dobney, Jemma Housego, Martine Henderson, Chloe Daybell, Chloe Hopkinson, Mia Ellis and Tiffany Wong. Also good luck to Cade Deaves and Caitlin Anders who aren’t pictured and especially Caitlin who makes her Midlands debut this year! Swim fast everyone!

East Midlands Age Group Championships 2019

Good luck to Connie, Evie, Callum, Grace T, Emily, Francesca, Ava, Josh, Holly, Thomas and Sam who are heading to the Corby International Pool this weekend to compete at the East Midlands Age Group Championships. The Age Group Championships are for swimmers aged between 11 and 13 who have to qualify as per the qualification times published here. The Age 14+ East Midlands Championships will be held in a few weeks time during May at Ponds Forge - so look out for team photo nearer the time.
