Leah Roughan wins silver in British Age Group Championships in Sheffield

Leah Roughan had a blistering opening swim in the Age Group Nationals. In her first swim, 200 breastroke, Leah improved by 4 seconds, qualifying for the final in the fastest time of the day. Leah’s achieved time of 2.34.34 was only 2 seconds off the British record! In the final, Leah did superbly well, attacking the record time, but it was a swimmer from Millfield who managed to finish stronger and Leah came second.

A fantastic weekend at Nationals – Leah claims another silver medal in 100 breastroke

It was another great weekend for Grantham Swim Club. Leah Roughan qualified for the final with the fourth fastest time, but there were plenty of other swimmers in medal contention, especially as the 100m breastroke was never her favourite event. However in the final, Leah showed some great racing spirit and swam fantastically finishing second with another personal best (2 seconds) and breaking another county record. What an achievement!

Hayley delivers a strong performance at Youth Nationals

Our only swimmer to qualify for ASA Youth Nationals delivered some outstanding races. Hayley Milne improved in 3 out of 4 of her races which is pretty good for this level of event. In 50 free Hayley swam a great race improving almost 2 seconds and making the final. In 100 breastroke Hayley improved by a massive 2.8 seconds, also getting a personal best in the 50 breast as a split by over 4 seconds. Her time of 2.00.79 was enough to qualify for another final. What an achievement! In the last race Hayley swam well in 100 free but missed a personal best.

Congratulations Hayley!
